Inspiration & Info
Of all originating Surinamese musical styles, Kaseko can be called the most durable and most authoritative. Kaseko has the potential to entertain various cultures: from Europe to the Orient, from America to Oceania. Reason enough to carry over the essence of Kaseko not only to several segments within the musical education, but also to present Kaseko in a modern form to a bigger, international audience.
What counts for Kaseko, counts for some other not-western music styles. The IKO Foundation works in projects to illuminate icons and phenomena which are representative for typical music styles. For this a good cooperation from different parties is necessary, which do not only subscribe this striving but also are willing to put their backs into a professional way of dealing.
